At Whole School SEND we recognise that understanding the local context is crucial to improving national SEND provision. Each region has a Regional SEND team, formed from school-based SEND practitioners, to support prioritisation of SEND across the region. Regional pages will also bring together information and research about your region, SEND resources, and contact details for specialists and SEND organisations.

The Regional SEND Leadership team in the North West work to promote and celebrate the effective and exciting SEND practice across our region. The North West is a large geographic area with a huge amount of excellent practice and incredible SEN and SEND expertise already present and active within our schools and communities. Currently we are working to connect with and, where needed, develop professional networks to best support all schools in prioritising SEND within their practice.

In Yorkshire and The Humber SEND Leaders are currently working with LAs, Opportunity Areas, MATs, Dioceses and schools to develop solutions to enhance SEND related school improvement and workforce development.

As a regional team, we work with school-based professionals, Local Authorities, Teaching School Hubs and Multi-Academy Trusts to support the prioritisation of SEND within professional development and school improvement plans. There is already a great deal of expertise in schools across the region; our goal is to unlock this expertise and share it for the benefit of children and young people, families and professionals. Through our monthly newsletters, we share best practice, including signposting members to CPD, sharing newly developed resources and highlighting regional SEND initiatives.
