Equality Act in the Early Years training for practitioners

This training, delivered by our EYSEND Partner Council for Disabled Children (CDC), goes into depth on early years practitioners' duties in accordance with the Equality Act.

This training is for Early Years practitioners in family hub local areas.

The training session will;

  • Summarise how the disability duties in the Equality Act apply in the early years;
  • Consider how the definition of disability applies to young children;
  • Consider what the data tells us about patterns in access and inclusion for young disabled children.
  • Support early years practitioners to understand how the Equality Act applies to their daily practice.

Our Early Years work

nasen is proud to be part of the DfE-funded Early Years SEND Partnership Project led by the Council for Disabled Children (CDC). The other partners are:

  • Speech and Language UK
  • The Communication Trust
  • Contact
  • National Children’s Bureau (ncb)
  • Dingley’s Promise

nasen is currently working with Local Authorities from the nine regions across the country to develop their SEND provision at a strategic level through Regional Action Learning Sets and Specialist Action Learning Sets.
