Updated ‘Keeping children safe in education’ statutory guidance is released
The guidance includes specific reference to children who have special educational needs, with or without an EHCP: ‘school and college staff should be particularly alert to the potential need for early help for a child who…has special educational needs’ (p.7). The section on SEN can be found on p.31, and suggests that schools and colleges consider extra pastoral support for children with SEN and disabilities.
