New Pupil Premium Guide from the EEF
The EEF have published an updated Pupil Premium Guide to reflect the new Department for Education guidance and the new statutory template for schools. The updated document is a practical guide to support schools to develop their pupil premium strategy based on the best evidence, which is a new requirement for this year.
The guide has four steps to develop your strategy:
- Diagnosing your pupils’ needs
- Using strong evidence to support your strategy
- Implementing your strategy
- Monitor and evaluate your strategy.
There is also a handy ‘myth buster’ section and a guide to accessing and interpreting evidence. The national data for SEND shows that 34.3% of pupils at SEN Support level are also FSM compared to 20.8% for all pupils so getting the PP strategy right is important to ensure effective support for all.
