My Story and Me – young women and girls wanted to tell their mental health story
The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families are creating a storytelling intervention for young women and girls called ‘My Story and Me’ to help other young women and girls talk about their mental health. Mental health issues are one the rise, with one in eight women aged 17-19 experiencing mental health problems. They are recruiting women and girls aged between 12 years and 24 years old to create videos or audio recordings with their answers to the questions ‘Who am I? What is my mental health story? How would I like to be supported?’ Those who take part will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you.
They are keen to hear from a range of different voices and particularly encourage those who are neurodivergent, from minoritized ethnic groups, identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community or more than one of the groups.
