International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Saturday 3rd December is International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrated every year to bring about awareness of the importance of equality for people with disabilities in all areas of society. One billion people, or 15 per cent of the world’s population, experience some form of disability. In the UK, one in five individuals of working age in the UK are disabled or have a long-term health condition.

At nasen we believe in inclusion by design and that people with disabilities should be considered at the forefront of any projects, as planning for persons with disabilities will allow access for all. More than this, the visuals are that ‘we thought about you’ at the beginning and not as an ‘add-on ‘.
