Guidance on delivery of specialist support within education settings
The DfE, DHSC and NHS England have worked with education and health partners, to develop guidance which sets out the expectations for the delivery of specialist 1:1 and group interventions for children and young people in education settings.
The guidance is clear that education settings should welcome all specialist staff going forward and facilitate their work with children and young people. It aims to address any misconceptions around what should be delivered and to provide clarity in three broad areas:
- Ensuring full access to specialist provision
- What safety precautions should be considered
- The importance of working with families and carers.
