In this webinar designed specifically for Headteachers and Senior Leaders, presenters Ian Hunkin and Julia Steward will give an overview of the professional obligation leaders maintain for their own wellbeing in order to effectively lead inclusive schools.

Throughout the session, Ian will provide an overview of messages from research regarding actions we can take for our own self-care and to avoid decision fatigue, while Julia will explore strategies for sustaining emotional resilience for leadership, with a focus on the challenges leaders often face in taking care of their own wellbeing.

Speakers

Ian Hunkin

Ian Hunkin works as the Director of The Sigma Teaching School which is a part of Delta Education Trust. Ian has previously worked as a Headteacher, Director of Multi-Agency Services, Educational Psychologist and Teacher. Ian is also the author of some free online training provided by Delta Education Trust designed to help school staff to understand and support children and young people who have experienced trauma.

Julia Steward

Julia is the author of Sustaining Resilience for Leadership: Stories from Education, which draws on and expands her masters research.  She has worked with school leaders for more than twenty years, most recently specialising in one-to-one coaching and group-work to sustain and build resilience for leadership.
