Webinar: Practical Strategies for Supporting Speech, Language and Communication Needs
This series of three webinars introduces the building blocks needed for communication and practical strategies for supporting children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs in the classroom, with a focus on boy’s language development as an ‘at risk’ group for SLCN.
Sessions feature input from Speech and Language Therapists and case studies from school practitioners who have successfully implemented strategies.
This series is suitable for classroom practitioners and Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and leaders of SEND from Primary, Secondary and specialist settings.
Part 1: Building Blocks for Communication
This session will cover the building blocks of communication development and discuss ways in which practitioners can support children in these areas.
Part 2: Early Identification
This session will focus on early identification of SLCN, including 'what to look for', 'what to ask', and tips for informal assessment in the classroom.
Part 3: Interventions and Support Strategies
This session will focus on interventions and strategies that can be implemented in the classroom to support SLCN.
