Whole School SEND is pleased to host a series of webinars for newly qualified and recently qualified teachers to explore inclusive teaching for children with SEND in mainstream schools. Hosted by Erica Wolstenholme and delivered by Lorwyn Randall and Dr Jim Rogers, these webinars explore what it means to be an evidence-informed teacher and how this can contribute to good practice for SEND pupils.

Speakers

Lorwyn Randall

Lorwyn leads the EEF’s school improvement work in the South West & South Coast. He works closely with the Research School Network and other Improvement Partners in the system to broaden schools’ understanding of evidence and provide access to guidance, training and support in the region.

Lorwyn joined the EEF in September 2019 having led Kingsbridge Research School since 2016. In addition to five years in secondary school senior leadership, he has twelve years of experience teaching RE and Philosophy. During this time, he completed a Masters in Education Research at Exeter University focussing on dialogic teaching and led an EEF pilot study on self-testing.

Jim Rogers

Dr Jim Rogers is an education specialist and leads his own educational consultancy. Dr Rogers works regionally in the south west for the Teaching Schools Council and is currently leading on a number of initiatives supporting leadership development and school improvement across the region. Dr Rogers is an advocate of research and evidence-informed practice, inclusive practice and also of collaboration, to ensure long-term, sustainable professional and system development.  Dr Rogers is a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, and a facilitator for Education Development Trust. Previous roles include Director of Professional Development for the White Horse Federation, Director of Plymouth Teaching School Alliance and Teaching and Educational Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, following a career teaching in secondary schools.
