Join us for a FREE discussion exploring how to support sensory differences in the learning environment in secondary / FE settings.

Featuring Dr Jamie Galpin: Jamie, a founding member of Special Networks and a chartered Developmental Psychologist, has dedicated more than 20 years to the fields of inclusion, psychology, innovation, participation, and learning, with a focus on empowering children and young people. His work explores the intersection of psychology and social justice, aiming to foster genuine social change. Jamie strongly believes in the power of inclusion by design. His expertise extends far beyond the theoretical aspects, guiding the education sector and wider industries, products, and services in adopting and implementing this groundbreaking approach. His diverse professional background spans roles in play work, family support, lecturing, teaching, training, strategy, policy work, and international consultancy. Jamie's career has seen him partner with a wide array of institutions, from charities and government bodies to global corporations.

The discussion will be hosted by Whole School SEND’s National Delivery Coordinator, Caroline Sutton-Reid, and everyone will be encouraged to join in, ask questions and share experiences. As such, content will be responsive but may cover some or all of the following themes:

  • The eight sensory systems and a basic understanding of them
  • The impact school and further education environments can have on enabling learners or causing barriers to participation and learning, and
  • Some simple, universal strategies to support all learners.

The discussion builds on our 20 minute online SEND CPD units. While everyone is welcome to take part in the session, delegates who have completed the corresponding unit content in preparation are likely to find the sessions particularly helpful.

Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, recordings will not be made available after the event.

Data Sharing: As this is a Department for Education (DfE) funded project, participants may be contacted by an external evaluator to measure the impact and success of the project. By participating in any of the webinars, live sessions or other activities you are providing consent by default to have your data shared and be contacted by the DfE and/or the external evaluators to support the evaluation process.
