Join us for a FREE discussion exploring approaches to promoting mental wellbeing in primary settings.

Featuring Kayleigh Larne: Kayleigh began her career as a Psychologist in the NHS, working therapeutically with children and their families across a number of different fields. Her passion has always been to promote early intervention and end the stigma surrounding mental health, breaking down barriers and evoking conversations around diversity and social equality. It was her drive to see real change that led her to join her local authority, where she led on the development of a trauma-informed framework to support senior education leaders embed robust and sustaining cultural and organisational change. Through engaging and insightful training packages, Kayleigh brings together professionals of all backgrounds to promote the conversation of childhood and adolescent mental health, and the importance of early intervention

The discussion will be hosted by Whole School SEND’s National Delivery Coordinator, Caroline Sutton-Reid, and everyone will be encouraged to join in, ask questions and share experiences. As such, content will be responsive but may cover some or all of the following themes:

  • Your role in promoting a setting-wide approach to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Why settings should promote the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of children and young people, (including people with a neurodiverse condition).
  • Risk factors which, acting singly or in combination, can adversely affect learners' mental health.
  • Protective factors that can protect against poor mental health.

The discussion builds on our online SEND CPD units, each one can be completed in under an hour. While everyone is welcome to take part in the session, delegates who have completed the corresponding unit content in preparation are likely to find the sessions particularly helpful.

Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, recordings will not be made available after the event.
