- Online
- 11 Feb 2025 (15:45 - 16:45)
Join us for a FREE discussion exploring Supporting Reading and Comprehension Across the Curriculum in Primary Settings.
Featuring Chris Brown: Chris has been a teacher since qualifying in 2011. He has worked both in the classroom and in school leadership in a local authority school in Gloucester before joining a local multi-academy trust in 2019. He leads the primary reading network for Greenshaw and has spoken at both the UKLA conference and ResearchEd. Chris has a passion for reading children’s literature and works collaboratively with the Cheltenham Literature Festival with all things reading, striving for everyone to become a reader through research-informed approaches.
The discussion will be hosted by Whole School SEND’s National Delivery Coordinator, Caroline Sutton-Reid, and everyone will be encouraged to join in, ask questions and share experiences. As such, content will be responsive but may cover some or all of the following themes:
- Learn about the skills learners need to achieve fluent reading,
- Consider the challenges that learners may face in achieving fluent, comprehending reading, and,
- Find ways to support learners to develop the reading skills they need across the curriculum.
The discussion builds on our online SEND CPD units which take less than one hour to complete. While everyone is welcome to take part in the session, delegates who have completed the corresponding unit content in preparation are likely to find the sessions particularly helpful.
Due to the interactive nature of these sessions, recordings will not be made available after the event.
Data Sharing: As this is a Department for Education (DfE) funded project, participants may be contacted by an external evaluator to measure the impact and success of the project. By participating in any of the webinars, live sessions or other activities you are providing consent by default to have your data shared and be contacted by the DfE and/or the external evaluators to support the evaluation process. If you do not want your data to be shared for this purpose please email: info@wholeschoolsend.com
